what's the story on drivers, programs and apps.if they worked in win 7/8/8.1, will I have to get/find or hope the manufacturer has a win 10 upgrade? I'm thinking about my 4 year old printer I like, and some software/programs I have. I know in the past I had to by new equipment because it wasn't compatible with the new windows O/S at the time.(vista)(what a POS!)
You should take a look at some of the different drivers properties and see how many are from 2006 alone.

I notice it says on this thread that Windows 10 Home does not have downgrade rights. Does that mean that I cannot use the 'go back to windows 7' option? It is not there to select anyway although the Win7 os is still in the windows.old folder.
Can't seem to connect to wifi even after uninstalling netgear adapter software and installing proper Win10 version. Just having the wifi adapter plugged in is bogging down my pc and often crashing it.
So.. may I post this question here or elsewhere? Is there a way for me to Downgrade back to 7 without buying the product?

Today I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on my Medion Akoya 2 in one tablet. I thought it may help me with my problem of not being able to share from my News Feed to a group in facebook. Sadly not so. I don't get an option of "save to a group" when I click on the "share" button, can somebody please help me or point me in the right direction. Thanks Jennie

If you want to upgrade to Windows 10 on your PC or tablet, here’s what it takes.

    • Latest OS: Make sure you are running the latest version either Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 Update
I've upgraded to Win 10 on two of my machines from Win 8.1 (and I'm very happy with it in both cases by the way). However my third machine is an older laptop that's running Win 7 SP1 and never upgraded to Win 8 because it couldn't handle it and it's also running old software that won't run right or at all under Win 8 or later. It is *never* going to be upgraded to Win 10. So how do I stop the "Get Windows 10" begging screen from popping up from time to time? That screen could do with a "Not now or ever" button.

I have what might be tantamount to a dumb question but, here goes:
I have double and triple checked my qualifications in receiving the Windows 10 upgrade and definitely qualify. however the upgrade was released July 29... Today is SEPTEMBER 29 and I have yet to receive the update....
Is Microsoft releasing the update in a certain manner/order?
    Alphabetically? Blood Type (O-Pos)?
My last name begins with "S"

Again, I realize it's a DUMB question, but If I have all the bench marks that qualify me for the update, how long am I going to have to wait??

Any insight would be most appreciated

    Thank you

The answer is until you run the Media Creation Tool and the easy way is to select the "upgrade this PC now" option:

The RTM was automatically released to most of those who signed up for it; however, some "few" (lots?) didn't get it as they expected. Who knows why? All of my machines qualified with Windows 8.1 (and would have qualified if they'd had Windows 7).

A couple of my machines upgraded as they should and I had to manually upgrade a couple (which might have upgraded if I'd waited).
