    Windows 10 storage spaces issue

I have an issue where windows keeps telling me I don't have enough space to download some files. In explorer it is showing nearly 50% free space on drive D. However in storage spaces (this is a 2 way mirror pool with 3 drives) this is showing nearly full. I have optimized to see if this would
correct but the issue still persists.
Can anyone help with a suggestion please?

I had to look that up...LOL. I see that windows 10 has it own built in software RAID....Looks pretty cool and simple.

Can you post the entire windows for each....need to see what it all is showing.

Have you tried this: Microsoft finally fixes Storage Spaces, adds rebalancing command!
Furthermore; have you tried the old way as mentioned in the article: or hot-remove drives from two/three way mirrors and have them reintroduced

Not sure what you mean post the entire Windows for each, it just shows as one drive D. I have pictured the contents and drive properties below.

The drives are already showing as balanced as you can see they are each about 97% used each and they are all the same size. I had recently transferred all my files to some portable drives and deleted the pool due to some other issues then recreated it then moved the files back.
Actually I think I stored some files on one of these drives then recreated the Windows as I don't know how to use the shell.

If you have 3x1.8TB storage pool (5.4TB total capacity), you can create fully provisioned two-way mirror of maximum data capacity 2.7TB (half of full capacity). So your drive D: (5.4TB two-way mirror) is strongly under-provisioned, that's why you cannot write more data to it. Of course, you can add another disks to your storage space; or you can delete it and create Parity storage space (very slow writes but 3.6TB data capacity in your 5.4TB storage pool on three disks).

Of course! That makes sense. Wouldn't it make sense also for Windows to display free space available to write to also? Will be looking to add another drive pronto.

In doubt if you can add only one disk to your existing mirror; probably two ones are necessary (new mirror can be re-created on four disks, but it means with data loss). You can test it in vmwareplayer/hyperv virtual machine.
