Cannot set file explorer file view

    Hi,
For some reason my win 10 (64 b) install always shows images in file view instead of Details.
When I try to apply the details setting to all folders, that selection is always grayed out.
    Can someone help?
    Thanks,
    Ed

Are you trying to change this using File Explorer Options in the Control Panel or are you opening File Explorer/File/change folder and search options? Because when I use the 2nd option I can make changes, but if I go through Control Panel I cannot.

    Thanks for the quick response.
When I use the 1st option the "Apply to folders" is not grayed out but it doesn't work. When I set to" details" for all folders, the next folder I open shows images again.
With the 2nd option, it's grayed out.

In File Explorer, go to the toolbar to View/Details

That works only for one folder. As soon as I open the next one, it's images again.

You have to do it for each folder.

For Pete's sake, I have hundreds of folders.
What is that "Apply to all folders" for if not for that?

I downloaded that bat file and ran it and I still see the images although my picture template was set to "Details".

I've seen the issue on some External USB drives [removable drives] while the Internal drives in the same computer don't have the problem.
