    windows update desktop cannot boot

The pc stays on for about 1 second and repeating the process..i can't do anything within that 1 second
Pressing the f keys does nothing, This might be the final nail in windows 10 for me..first the freezing now

If i could try to get a picture. Your machine is power off. You power it on, it starts but after about a second it dies. It may try this many times or you press the power and it does this. You don't see any vendor logo or "BIOS" type screens. Is this correct?

If so this is a hardware issue. Are you hearing any beeps as it starts? These beeps can tell you information. What is the detailed model number of your unit.

What I could recommend if you are into it, open your case. Ensure you ground yourself so you don't introduce a static discharge. You likely know this, I can never tell from oyur designation, static can end the life of certain computer parts. You might try reseating cards, cables etc. Given it a try.

If this doesn't work uninstall any addins you don't need. Extra drive, sound cards, etc. Try it. Then uninstall all memory except one stick, may have to reference manual to see what position the only stick needs to be in, try it. Try a different stick. Really important here that you don't have any static build up.

If this fails and you have one, test PSU. Maybe even take PSU to shop and let them test.

The freezing may have been the precursor to the failure. Hopefully it will be something as simple as a bad stick of memory that has failed.

    Hi Wasi,

Try unplugging all your USB cables. Then if it boots, plug in one USB cable at a time to see which one doesn't allow you to boot.

This is a hardware issue, not Windows 10

A computer that shuts off after starting it, has a hardware issue. Possibly your HDD. Try booting into Setup (Bios) if that works, try booting from a CD or USB drive.
