Windows 10: How to increase the size of the icons/tiles in the taskbar
I have another suggestion then! Look closely at the bottom of the next screen here to see another 3rd party tool at work "Without" any changes made to the registry at all except for the few new ones for the tool insefl where the ICONS GROW ON YOU!
Daaaa what be this??? As you can see the icons to the left for all those Quick bars are tiny in comparison to what is seen with the 3rd party toolbars on the right screen! Along the bottom we have the RocketDock tool bar which can be set to show or pop up on mouse over with the auto hide option checked off. Some shortcuts when dragged onto it to add a new one will be seeing a "?" instead of the icon itself however and are not able to be pinned. The tool bar comes with it's own defaults like Control Panel, Computer for Windows or File Explorer as it now called in 10. About RocketDock - RocketDock.com
It shows 25% increments, but you can insert other values. So you can scale up 112% if you like.
But if you are running dual monitors, both monitors will have the same scale factor.
Speaking about "scaling" while going over the display settings options in the Control Panel I came across an option there for scaling. I suspect that is geared towards scaling text however.
Once you make any change there you have to sign out to see it put into effect and will increase the size of text in 25% increments!
I believe it increases the Win10 default icon size of 24x24 pixels to the previously used size of 32x32.
Which is perfect for my liking.
Of course, once someone has figured out how to make this a registry entry (or MS provides a fix) I will be the first one to wipe that utility from my system. Instructions for that (removal of registry entries) are right on the 7TT website.
Here I simply went back the defaults as far as the main task while using the view option for the Quick Launch type additional tool bars to grow the icons there. As you will note the browser is seen in two places one always taken up by the first browser window open. The same goes for File Explorer windows without the need to hit the Windows key+E combination for seeing the second open.
Having the quick bar option with duplicate icons increased in size when those on the task bar are already in use has it's own advantages rather then the need to keep digging into the Start menu or using a key combo.
OOPS! That was all "FIne and Dandy" untill booting into 7 and then finding that the default size on 7 was actually smaller then seen on 10! I had to use the View option for the Ouick bar there as well as for the extra browser and explorer icons to put those at large and crossed compared with the 10 install on the remote tower case where the tweaker was used showing that 10 isn't seeing anything smaller then 7!
All of the icons on 10 there are the W10 large icon option applied with the taskbar tweiaker.

Taskbar Icon Size
I was not able to adjust the Taskbar icons by more than the two options provided in W10. I simply went back to using the the Quick Launch toolbar. This gives you two options as well but the larger option better suits my eye. To get there, unlock Quick Launch and place your mouse over the left two vertical lines until you see the straight arrow. Right click the mouse and go to view. Click view and select the larger Icon size. Quick Launch allows you to get more on the Taskbar and improves the way Icons appear and allows you to more easily click duplicate applications (Edge, Firefox, etc.). If anyone can find a solution to sizing the Icon on the Taskbar let me know.

I just installed Build 9879 over Windows 7 on a spare machine and it went as expected except for the size of the Icon fonts and size of the taskbar. They both are much larger than they were on Win 7. I can't remember how to make them smaller. I...
Win 10 x64
Small size icons are getting cropped .. See the image....
Any ideas on how to fix...??
Edit: I'm on latest build 10240.. Funny...It was back to normal on a reboot and now again cropped..:p
I was trying to figure out why the Start screen looked odd--and then I noticed the app icons in the tiles are about 1/3 the size they were in Windows 8, so you've got (for example), a tiny W for Word in Windows 10 vs a more visible W in Windows 8.1....
I get that they feel the need to put new stuff in... but this just annoys the crap right outta me. I'm opening programs, and no freakin icon is appearing in my task bar.
Please oh please tell me there's a way to eliminate this latest...
I've managed to increase text sizes on most things but the Menu has very small text (It seems ALL I.T people have very good eyesight - on a large monitor I find the standard text size FAR to small to use properly !!).
Anybody know how...
