How to delete an empty folder from a library?

    .
The attached screenshot shows an empty Downloads folder in a Win XP-type of folder setup. I accidentally moved this empty folder from my C:\Users folder. The folder is empty because my Downloads are actually on the E partition, as you can see from the screenshot.
The correct action was to include the Downloads folder from E in the library. You can see that I've done that.

I tried to correct my action by deleting the empty Downloads folder in C:\Users. That worked, but it didn't remove the folder from the library.

If I right-click on the empty folder and click Delete, I get a message "This file is no longer located in C:\Users".

I would be grateful for any advice on how to delete the empty Downloads folder.

    Thanks.

Try making a new folder in C:\Users in the hidden folder (Default) rename it to Downloads.
You need to have enabled hidden folders see this Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives - Show in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
And again try to delete the Downloads folder in Libraries.

Good try, but it didn't work

Clicking "Delete" for the empty folder now produces no response. (Previously the response was the message, "This file is no longer located in C:\Users", as in my OP.)

Actually, I don't think it has ever been possible to "delete" a folder from a library - it's just a pointer. I looked at my Win 7 laptop. One option is "Remove location from library". But that option (or something similar) does not appear in Win 10.

There's an option "Include in library", which makes no sense to me. In my younger days, I might have included it again in Documents - just to see if it filled up the partition with recursive copies of itself :)

    Thanks.
