    System Log Errors 10010/7023

    I have started to get a Systems Error 10010 with a source of Distributed DCOM which says;

    The server {37998346-3765-45B1-8C66-AA88CA6B20B8} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

    in the detail. When I chase this down through the registry it points to cdpsvc, but I don't know what that is

    This always happens with a 7023 error in the System Log from The Service Control Manager which simply states

    The Connected Devices Platform Service service terminated with the following error:
    Unspecified error

    They are not (apparently) affecting the machine performance but having done a completely fresh install a few days ago I am surprised to see any errors, let alone ones repeating constantly every 5 mins

    Any ideas on what it could be or how to chase them down? Google hasn't proved to be my friend in these cases

    The 7023 error is produced, because your Connected Devices Platform Service fails to start, Automatically in version 1607 and above (in 1511 was set to "Disabled")

    To resolve that, navigate to: Settings > Privacy > General
    Make sure you have the “Let apps on my other devices open apps and continue experiences on this device” to ON and reboot.

    This will take care of all the 7023 errors and consequently the 10010 produced from this one.
