Windows 10: Invalid registry
Can anyone offer advice as to the message I get when trying to open photo from desktop, only just happened?
Thanks for looking
Hi, Not seen anything like that, sorry.
Could you try opening the gif with a different program? (e.g. rt click, Open With). What happens?
Is another image type associated with the same program? If so does that open if you double click the file?
Does the program these are associated with open if you launch it? Which one is it?
Have you made any changes related to image file associations?
Means that something is wrong with that file as it clearly states.
Have checked with other file associations opens with Adobe, microsoft office, paint but will not open with photos, not double clicking either.
I understand the file does not open with the universal Photos app, but does with several desktop programs.
Does Photos open if you launch it from the start menu, and can you view any image files with it?
I.e. is Photos working?
Thanks, that could be the next step after we've checked Photos is indeed not working.
Tried rebooting and this seemed to work but still feel something not quite right, so will monitor the situation and get back if sorted or not.
Thanks for all the relevant help so far its always much appreciated.

This could be one of the ridiculous post have ever made. But, I have been wondering what will happen if I backup all of the registry keys, reset Windows 10, and then restore the registry keys? Will it affect device driver? Will the device be bricked?
