    Oh ya. Forgot about that. Lol
    As stated before its not really a key logger. And will be removed when 10 is ready for primetime, would be a PR nightmare otherwise.

    If I am going to keep testing builds, I want to be able to disable this when I do banking and shopping. I don't want my card number transferred to Microsoft by a glitch in the so called keylogger. Same for passwords unless I am using Microsoft account of course.

    If I were you I would worry more about hackers than MS at this point. Hackers have been at this for some time.

    I won't and don't do any banking or sensitive work on the TP.
    That will be left for the desktop running RTM or Windows 7.

    That why I don't use the preview more. If an option appears to disable it, then I would use windows 10 preview more. Right now, I am just using windows 7 along with xubuntu 15.05

    I am still trying to decided if I want to give up my dvd player and use VLC (Vlc maybe illegal in the U.S. but that another debate).

    I thought this rumor had been put to bed a long time ago. THERE IS NO KEY LOGGER IN WINDOWS 10. There is not, nor has there ever been one. You are being ridiculously paranoid if you believe these false rumors.

    Yes, there is verbiage in the EULA that *allows* Microsoft to send information you type to Microsoft, but this is nothing more than the "spell check" feature that has been in Windows since Vista or 7. The a feature that underlines misspelled words sends those words to Microsoft's spell check web service to determine if they are spelled wrong or not. Google does the same thing in Android, as does Apple in iOS.

    The feature is typically only used in multi-line input, and not numerical protected fields like those used for credit cards.

    You can turn this off in Settings, but you also lose the ability to spell check.

    The only other possibility is that crash dumps can result data like credit card information being saved in the dump. However, this is no different than Windows today, which can do the same thing.

    Telemetry data does not capture credit cards, in fact, they are required by law to filter anything that looks like credit card data from any logging they do. If they didn't, they would not be able to use credit cards payment processing as the payment processors would not allow them to. This is a standard known as PCI (or Payment Card Industry) certification.

    Well it is still a logger of some type.

    IMPORTANT NOTICE
    This software is an experimental and early prerelease version. This means that you may experience occasional crashes and data loss. To recover, you may have to reinstall the software, your applications, or re-flash your device. In some instances, once you install the software, you may not be able to go back to the prior version of the software. Additionally, the software, if installed on a mobile device, may inadvertently damage your device rendering it inoperable. Using the software on some devices may impact your warranty (check with your device provider). By using the software, you agree to frequently backup your data.
    The software may:
    automatically collect and transmit data to Microsoft and its partners regarding activities on your device, including personal information (see Privacy Statement for details go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=506737 and for Office apps included with the software see the Privacy Statement at go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=507380);
    not be stable or tested to the same level as commercially-released software;
    stop working, be updated, or removed from your device automatically without notice. The software updates automatically, for example through Windows Update. Automatic updating cannot be turned off. Some features may be removed or may stop working after a predetermined time period or at the end of an evaluation cycle once enough data has been collected. Some third party applications installed on the device may also not work, may stop working, or may be automatically deleted; and
    change before commercial release or may never be commercially released.
    Does the software collect my personal information and how do we use your information? You agree that Microsoft may collect, use, and disclose your information as described in the Privacy Statement at go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=506737 and for Office apps included with the software at go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=507380.

    • when you use voice input features like speech-to-text, we may collect voice information and use it for purposes such as improving speech processing (e.g., to help the service better translate speech into text),
    • when you open a file, we may collect information about the file, the application used to open the file, and how long it takes to use it for purposes such as improving performance (e.g., to help retrieve documents more quickly), or
    • when you input text, handwrite notes, or ink comments, we may collect samples of your input to improve these input features, (e.g., to help improve the accuracy of autocomplete and spellcheck).

    MS is only concerned about how we use Win10 and what problem we do or do not have. They are not going to risk a lawsuit over hacking into someones bank account.
