Then see my post #19. Free. Took me more than an hour to find the right tool- implementation was quick.

Also there's a free version of XYplorer (last free).

Ok, I've succeeded in adding the ability to view folder parameters in the Details Pane- without any 3rd party tools, and now know how to extend what is accessible via the Details Pane. Many have asked about this from Win 7 on, but I've not seen a successful outcome so far for folders when I've been searching.

Here's the proof (1 simple registry modification):

    For folders the content of
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Directory
    PreviewDetails
is what allows such a change.

You can add a whole range of parameters as per
Customize Preview Details in Details Pane of File Explorer in Windows[/U][/URL]

    System (Windows)

    Viewing data is fine.
But there's a problem saving the change made in the Details Pane: At present if I try to SAVE the change I get:

Changing the comment as per my post #19 works- the comment is visible in
    - the Detail Pane, the Comment column and the Info tip on hovering over the folder.
    All are updated and consistent.

Yes, I saw the freebie version just after my comment to you.
I downloaded and installed it, and hope to test the "comment" issue using it.
    Thanks, Dalchina!

FOLLOWUP remark: the COMMENT column worked just as you described - thanks, Dalchina!

You can still do it in File Explorer by using the details pane...

Yes, but not by default for folders. The options exposed in the details pane (and the Properties, Details sheet) are specified (separately) per file type in the registry.
