Windows 10: Would like to know how to set up standard windows 10 right click menu
Would like to know how to set up standard windows 10 right click menu
I have a customer's new laptop here in the shop I work at -- I'm now, so I'm still trying to learn things.
It's dell Inspiron 11 3500 series with windows 10 home on it.
I would like to ask how to get the standard windows 10 menu to appear if one right clicks on the windows icon -- I'm not sure if it's the same as in windows 10 pro, which is what our shop computers use.
On this particular dell laptop when I right click on the windows icon a get a small dialog box that says classic start menu. On the windows 10 pro version I get a long menu that, for instance, has "file explorer" as one of the options, along with "Device Manager," "Program Features," etc.
I could have sworn that this customer had such when he brought it in, but I had to do some work on the machine regarding unwanted programs, malware removal, etc, and generally slow performance.
I've been looking around trying to see how to restore the standard windows right click menu, but can't seem to find it. Can anyone give me some help/advice?
Your customer appears to have installed Classic Shell (or similar). You should be able to still use to the standard 'Start'. See...
The Classic Shell program includes both an overhaul to the Start Menu system that allows you to switch out the Windows 8/Windows 10 system for the classic single column Start Menu that harkens all the way back to Windows XP, a two-column arrangement, and the Windows 7 style.
Hi, just to add to this:
a. rt click the start button, click exit, closes Classic Shell
b. Windows key + X = rt click the default start button
c. With Classic Shell running, SHIFT + Windows key launches Win 10's start menu.
Recently, I've noticed that some the right-click menu bar icons haven't been appearing, among in some other places.

I've been looking around for a solution for about an hour now - all I can find are problems relating to the mouse not working at all, or the start menu not opening at all. My issue is that my mouse works in every way except inside the start...
I have just upgraded to Win10 and most items on the "Power User Command Menu" do not work if the menu is accessed by right-clicking the Start Menu button on the Task Bar. The only items that do work are Search, Run, Shut down and Desktop. If the...
