That one especially. You kind of wonder if they did not put that bug in there to force the end users to go out and buy hardware, since the hardware sales have taken a huge slump. It is bad enough that you could take two cards from two different manufacturers and have one not work and the other one does.
Though you suggestion has an element of truth in it I do not think it is the case in this situation. just bad quality control and a commercial pressure to support the latest games.

Or with the fact that they are selling out on the Shield TV unit and cannot keep up on the demand, since NVIDIA wants a single platform capability with their games. Also with the coders making the games to be able to work with OS-X, Xbox One, PS-4, the Shield platform, Linux, we are running into this headache way too far into the ball game.

It's also a good idea to stay far away from any Nvidia windows 10 Beta drivers. But sometimes even the releases are bad. They released an update for my GeForce 8400 GS, under Windows 7 I had been getting flawless updates for this card, until the latest one they pushed out, it bricked my PC. I had gotten the same update for Windows 10, same machine, it was bad for both OS's. That was when I locked it down. Last good driver I got was 9.18.13.4144 dated 2/3/15.

Always make sure that you have a way to run System Restore, in case you can't get in to the UI. I always make several restore points before I attempt any Video Driver updates, that way, at least one of them will work.

You're a lifesaver! I did a rollback and everything started working again instantly. Thank you so much!
Thanks, this is always the best method for restoring a bad driver update.IF you have access to your GUI. It won't work under safe mode, but it may sometimes work in Low-Res mode.

I completely agree with what you said system restore is always the best way out of this fix. I also keep a windows image of my system when I've usually got everything working perfectly (I have only 3 event errors daily at the moment which are Win 10 bugs)

I was able to get around the issue by going into Safe Mode.
