Accidently deleted desktop files, possible to restore?

Hi, i found this file on github, GitHub - Bahanix/aMazing: Porn folder maze generator which said it makes folder mazes and i thought it'd be cool to try out but i think it's a troll program because i think it deleted my desktop. Did it really delete my desktop or did it move it into a maze or something? Also is there a way to recover my files? i haven't shutdown or restarted my pc since it happened but i lost a lot of files.

    System restore working ?
Also check if they were just hidden from desktop.
If they are not outright deleted, check in C:/Users/user name/Desktop folder. If not deleted, they should be still be there.

I had a system restore point type: install made by my python installation earlier today but that didn't restore my files. Right now i'm trying to get the type: system system restore working but it says my anti virus is stopping it even though i already uninstalled it. Then i tried in safe mode and it gave me this error: system restore did not complete successfully. Unspecified error occurred during system restore. (0x80070002)
Also in my programs list it shows bitdefender as still installed but i try to uninstall it but the button does nothing.
I checked my desktop but there doesn't seem to be any hidden folders and most worrying of all is that i checked my hard drive space and it has a lot more free space now.

How did you uninstall Bitdefender ? This is official uninstaller for their products: Uninstall Bitdefender it should uninstall it without leftovers. If you uninstall most AVs usual way, you have to kill their service(s) first.

don’t need to uninstall bitdefender, you can restore the data with a data recovery software, such as recuva or EaseUS.
That's only last resort because it may take many hours and results are not guaranteed.
    Welcome to 10forum, btw.

Did you look in: C:/Users/user name/Desktop folder ? If nothing there, try Recuva, it's pretty good but there is a chance that files are overwritten and in that case nothing can help.

Yeah my files were deleted, i looked up the code and it wipes the directory clean and then makes the folders. I tried recuva to recover my files but they were all overwritten, maybe because of the system restores? Unfortunately i lost around 100gb of files since i put all my important files on my desktop. Anyway thank you very much for the help, i'll mark as solved now.
