Windows Insiders and the Free Upgrade Offer.

Should I roll back to 8.1 so I can reserve my free copy or will insiders receive the invite icon as well?

Insiders don't get the option (since the Tech Preview has a generic key), but upon release MS will *probably* release ISOs that let you punch in your Win 7/8 key and do a clean install.

Hope so because we only have a finite time to reserve our copy.

Could I install 8.1 virtually on this machine and then reserve Windows 10 that way?

It needs to be done on the machine that it's installed on, the reserve thing is just to preload and plan bandwidth you can get your free upgrade any time in the first 12 months and .....

there's rumors that the key gets tied to your hardware. So mite be safer to do so nativly.

But hey it's for a year. I personally am waiting till release to see if I can punch keys into ISO..if not, then incoming slog by installing>updating Win7/8 (which will murder my bandwidth limits) then upgrade to Win10.

I have a feeling MS will make the upgrade easy enough. They know that if people find something too difficult, then they just won't bother doing it.

Daw. That's awesome :). Glad that MS are appreciating beta testers rather then saying "lol go format and buy it", cuz we're disabling the preview soon".
