Sorry JohnyJohn , I didn't mean to take over the Thread but Alpha's Comments got me looking into it more on this old MB which was made about the same time as yours.
You said you checked Hiberboot was set to 1 (faststartup) but did you check if Hibernation was Enabled? If not you won't see the FastStart option from what I read yesterday.
powercfg /a at a Admin Command Prompt (RC Start Button to find) will tell you the sleepstates the computer has enabled or disabled.
powercfg -h on turns Fast startup and Hibernation On
powercfg -h off turns Fast startup and Hibernation Off
I guess you saw the FastStartup Tutorial?
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4...dows-10-a.html
And for me......
I had indeed in the past turned off hibernation with
powercfg -h off due to the issue with this GByte MB in Win7 not Hibernating properly and the file being the same size as the Ram installed and had done the same with Win10 I think. ( or the setting carried thru with the upgrade ) .
I decided to switch it back on with
Powercfg -h on and see if Win10 handles Hibernation any better on this Board and FastStartup appeared in the Options once again , with both S1 or S3 , the other options change depending on which one I choose in the Bios for eg if S1 is used there is no Hybrid Sleep available.
It appears in Win10 that the Hibernation File is about 40% of the Ram installed (5gb with 12gb Installed) and you can now set the Size of the Hibernation file or use it only for FastStartup (which I don't use either as it stops WOL working) with the powercfg commandline switches found here of size and Reduced/Full etc........
