People seem to ask me to repeat my post on this. So here is text from #4.
This will refresh Windows, after the manner of a Windows installation.
    - all/most associations will be unchanged
    - all your programs will be left installed
    - no personal data should be affected

In an unsupported directory? What does that mean? It was apparently supported enough to run Win7.

Hi, you may have relocated user folders, changed the default install path for programs via the registry, or you may have a mismatch in versions of Windows or language between the iso you are using and your installed version.

I guess you're all too familiar with the concept that MS error messages are not exactly the most informative or unambiguous!

I did do some research and I can confirm that my installation of Windows is en-us (the same as the iso)
How can I change the default install path in the reg?

Did you update registry to save programs to another drive?

Check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion >ProfileList (they should all say %systemdrive%) for profiles...

NOTHING Is Working On My PC After Upgrading to Windows 10!-regedit1.png

and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version - there should be no mention of D drives etc

NOTHING Is Working On My PC After Upgrading to Windows 10!-regedit2.png

    What do you have?

Have you moved Documents, Videos etc to another drive? Or your desktop? (Location tab on properties sheet)
