"Invalid Handle" running Windows 10 in emulation with Parallels on Mac
Since updating (1) Windows to 10, (2) Parallels to 12 and (3) the MacOS to 10.12 (Sierra), logging into windows takes about 10 minutes. First the machine gives me a blue screen with the large word "Administrator" (the only user I have, i.e. me) and "Welcome" with the spinning little dots. For about 5-8 minutes the machine seems to be doing things, accessing disks and the internet. Eventually it gives me a message "Invalid handle" and what appears to be a box for a password but I set it up so as not to require a password. Indeed, if I leave the box empty and click the arrow just to its right my machine will boot and run the software I normally use (the basics plus Quicken): Total time nearly 10 minutes.
I have researched the fixes posted in various places - Fix All The Things: Windows 10 - Handle is Invalid at Logon - 6 month or so ago, but I am using different emulation software, a different OS and Windows is much updated since then. I nver had this problem until the 3 interfacing bits of software (Windows, Parallels and the MacOS) were all updated. Niether the Parallels nor the Apple support folks seem to be able to help and the earlier posts on the subject such as the link above from february suggest this may be a Windows issue.
Anybody else experiencing this or have a fix?
