I would suspect you would, as I did when I dual booted my machine. I tri-boot Windows 7, 8.1, and 10. As I am running an AMD 8150 8 core, I had to switch to Windows 8 as windows 7 architecture was not ideal for my AMD CPU.

Yes ... it's a new OS and you have to install everything you want to carry over from the other OS -- unless you do an "upgrade", and if you do that, you might NOT be able to get the old OS back.

I can't wait to get Win7 off my laptop. The drivers(specially the USB ones) are pretty unstable, be they original OEM or from hardware manufacturer's site. Just look in Windows Seven Forums and 85% the posts are BSOD or Error messages, in Eight Forums it's mostly people needing help getting around or with 3red party software. I've had 10 on my 7 laptop and didn't have any stability issues once everything was installed and setup. you should really contemplate moving to 10(just my recommendation).

    Hi there

YOU CAN ALWAYS GET THE OLD OS BACK (Caps intended).

Just Image the old OS with a program like acronis or Macrium BEFORE doing the upgrade. Then just RESTORE.

    Cheers
