Does the Windows 10 spell checker work for anyone?

Relatively new user of Windows 10 (about a month). Before that, I was exclusively mac.

I have all the settings turned on under the typing section of the settings app. However, there seems to be no checking of spelling at all. Is this just me, or is the spell checking really crappy?

Working fine here, but only in modern apps (Mail etc.) and Edge.

In which app did you try?

Likewise. Significant desktop programs (Office, browsers, email clients..) usually have their own individual spell checkers.

@lightwriter check in Settings / Apps / Manage optional features, if you have English typing installed. Should be installed when you select language, but just in case...

@dalchina yes, I see now... somehow missed that desktop app in your post :)

That is probably the problem. I don't use any modern apps.

I don't think that there's any system wide spell checker, it's left to applications/programs to use it. All browsers I have use spell checking for instance. Even if I turn "Highlight misspelled words" off, FF keeps on checking.
