there was no lightning, there was no virus.

tbh i never really understood event log. but here is the exact message it gave me after shutting off.

Reboot and select proper boot device.
or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

just for the info, when i was playing rocket league for about an hour, there wasnt any shut down. if its idle, then poof to that black page.

kinda wish its the harddisk so that gives me a reason to get atleast 1tb harddisk. but still

Hi, this is really like #1. Failure to find a boot device.

I can only suggest you have a disk problem or an unreliable connection, or even a problem on your MBO.

I'm not familiar with desktops, but you might try a different connection for your hard disk, or (at least for test purposes) swap your hard disk temporarily and see if the same thing happens.

i just boot up my desktop and i've been logged in with temporary profile.

i have no idea how to configure or play around with the hard disk. only know cpu ram and gpu. others, not so much.

Ok, maybe you have a friend who is familiar with the innards of desktops.

The very simplest thing I can think of is to swap your hard disk (if you have a spare), try installing Windows on that, and leave it running for a day or so- long enough in comparison with your experience of black screen on booting.

You need to establish confidence in your hardware- it's not worth messing around with Windows until you've done that. Maybe someone else here will be able to advise further.

thanks for your assistance and guidance, dalchina.

i'm currently still browsing for ways to fix this, if not fixed, i'll just send my junk pc to the shop. they'll know what to do.

EDIT: just want to let everyone know that i kinda fixed the problem. i've read somewhere that in power settings, put pc to sleep and turn off display should not be set to "never". instead, i put it to 5 hours on each. and then, i changed the advanced settings under "Hard disk", "Sleep" and "Display" to 99999 minutes. PC havent shut down itself when i leave it idle.

will wait for a few days before changing this to resolved issue.
