    Computer won't start up

When I went to start up the computer, It will not start up. The power indicator light won't light up. There is power going to the computer.as the light on the back is lite up. In July I upgraded to windows 10 Pro 64 bit from Windows Ultimate 64 bit.
It has 12gb ram and a 256 ssd hard drive. I have 3 internal hard drives beside the ssd. I7 core. It is approx 7 years old. Is it the power unit or the mother board? Is it worth fixing?

Are there any signs of life - e.g. fans spinning, BIOS beep? If not, check the connection between the power on button and the motherboard. Its also possible you have a faulty PSU - try the paperclip test http://support.antec.com/support/sol...paperclip-test

    Steve,
I did the paper clip test and didn't do anything. I took the PS to micr center and they determined it was bad. They also heard a slight buzz. I purchased a new one. Haven't installed it yet. Keeping fingers crossed.

I'm glad you found the problem. I hope you didn't buy an XFX supply since I had two fail under warranty in the first year - dead PSUs like yours. I'm now with EVGA and so far so good.

Steve, purchased a EVGA 650W. I alos intalled a g-force 950 video card. Doubled my ram from 12-24. Working fine so far. Today hook up my externals. John

Good choice EVGA PSU! Remember to register it for the 10 year warranty.
