Reinstall windows with apps on second hard drive

Hi all,

So my motherboard failed and I will be replacing it but due to the chipset change I’d prefer a full reinstall.

However, I have my games from the game pass installed on a second hard drive. I don’t want to format this second hard drive due to the other data but I also know I cannot delete the windows apps folder.

So after I reinstall windows 10 will it accept the existing data from the second drive or will I have to format the drive?

Just point your game client to the folder/drive you keep your game files on.

I always keep my game files on a separate drive. Apparently your gaming info is in the cloud too.

As far as your apps go, you should have them installed on C.

To add to this, depending on the apps you use, there are portable versions of some of the most popular apps for Windows which need no install and can run from any drive. Worth looking into.
