i know my way around mounting iso's :) That won't be a problem. I'll try to do a repair install over the weekend.
That will work 100% Done it myself a few times. I still would not use that O&O EVER again....and would delete it. :)
Repair install only takes me about 30 mins to complete on an SSD
Also once your Computer is Stable and running Good, PLEASE do a complete Image Backup using Macrium Reflect, and store it on a 2nd drive, external would be the BEST place.

You need to run Macrium's Recsue Disk ....that will make you a bootable rescue disk, also install its PE files, along with your drivers that it needs to boot. Fire up your Macrium Click on Other Tasks from main menu Top. Then click on Create Rescue Media. You will need a USB stick or a DVD..... USB is better option.

You don't need to be in any VM to run Macrium ....

How old are your images you made from Macrium?? If they are fairly new complete image's BEFORE you played with O&O then your indexing should work.

Thats correct .....but it takes me 10 to 14 mins to restore a complete image back on to my C drive. Your rig sounds like its pretty fast.

Regardless you STILL need to make your Rescue Disk.....that IS the bottom line. :)
4GB stick costs about 6 bucks ...its all you need to make the rescue disk.

i've got a rescue flashdrive If i restore the image and it doesn't work then i've lost time for nothing and potential files. I'd rather do it the VM way first or straight up in-place upgrade.

So your telling me you don't know which image file you made that works 100% ??? Interesting....I only make mine when everything is working 100% so I know which one to restore. But.....do it your way if you want. :)
