Start Menu not working after latest forced reboot.

My machine reboot last night, likely due to an update that got pushed out, and now I can no longer click on the start menu. Windows key does not pull it up either. Also, the volume button in the bottom right of the screen, I cannot click on that either. I can right click on it though, and pull up volume rocker, but left click does not do anything. Running 10074. Anyone else having issues, or have any suggestions for me?

By forcing reboot, some system files might be corrupted. You can try from Admin Command prompt, copy and paste, and press <ENTER> to run:
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup&sfc/scannow&Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&sfc/scannow&pause

Gave that a shot and reboot. No good... Still no start menu or volume slider. Right click on both menu's still works though. I did not install any 3rd party GUI changers. Have been trying to test the OS out vanilla for the past month or so.

Here is what I see in the Windows Event logs:
The server CortanaUI.AppX5jgxdm5v6spdthjfhjx2gb5yy0fcs2mc.mca did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

System restore failed to complete unfortunately, and WSreset did not work either. Worth noting, I cannot launch search either. That is likely the crux of my problem, as Cortana is likely a pre-req for the start menu now a days. I may be looking at a re-install it seems, unless someone has another suggestion.

I've had similar problems. Try this: Apps - Re-register in Windows 8 and 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Make sure you reboot after. When you run this powershell command (AS ADMINISTRATOR), it will give you a scary looking "red" message at the end. It's only because shellexperiencehost app is open and can't be updated. Ignore it. try it. :)

Tried that.. No good.. I just finished loading classic shell so I could get around until I can afford to take the time to reload. This is working fine for now... Maybe I will get lucky and the next update they push will fix my issue.
