Getting double/repeat notifications from Action Center

For a while now I have been getting a double/repeat notifications from the W10 Action Center.

Seems it happens mostly with Cortana giving me sports score updates and Facebook giving me one of its various updates that someone has posted, liked, etc, etc.

This has been happening since before the Anniversary Update...probably for the last month or so.

Happens on both my PC and my HP Stream 7 tablet that I updated to W10...both with all updates current up to the Anniversary Update.

It's very aggravating and I'm hoping someone can give me some insight as to what may be causing it.

Just for the record, I have already seen about how Outlook settings can cause this problem but I do not have Outlook installed.

If it is those two items, then you are going to have to go into System Settings and start disability Notifications for those. If you have Tiles also running as Live in the Start menu, that will also give you a notification on top of the OS notification.

So if I'm understanding you...to fix the issue I have to give up Cortana notifications altogether by disabling it/her? Seems a bit heavy-handed.

And neither Cortana nor Facebook start menu tile is live. Both are turned off.

No, I never stated that. Go into the Windows System Settings and check to see if the notifications for those items are turned on. Also if you have Live Tiles running in the Start Menu, you may want to check the notifications for those tiles.

    Sorry I misunderstood.

And yes...notifications for those two are turned on...I'm not that slow in the head. LOL! If they weren't I'd be getting no notifications from them at all much less two of them.

And as I said...the live tiles for those two are not active...both are off.
