Of course I hate stuff like that, full of malware, adware and all kinds of junkware, that's why I restrict my downloads to only couple of places if I can't get SW from it's developer but those are just "Programs", not strictly Apps as defined by MS Store (aka Metro Store). For now at least, those are desktop applications and for MS to stop ability to use desktop applications would more or less mean suicide from ambush for MS.
Windows 10 store will have x86 desktop applications (programs)

One of the main reason why Windows RT died is because of lack of support for x86 applications. What you want is to revive RT and there's no way software developers will rewrite their programs or make 2 versions of it for your crusade. You are encouraging MS monopoly to gain control of all apps and programs and if it happens, you will have to pay for a bigger price.

Malware, virus, security... that's the bottom line right? There's an app for that.
As for your family dowloading bad stuffs... you can't fix that by changing the norms. It's all about knowing what to do to protect yourself and how to easily fix those issues. For protection, get Malwarebytes, SuperAntispyware and AV of your choice (Free versions will do). To fix problems, create a 15minute image backup using free Macrium. Done. You don't have to spend anyhting but a little bit of your time.
me managing my family devices just made me see the issues (it's not just about me or my family) , I know how to solve these issues , what I want is for windows to be by default good enough and safe enough for anyone to use (like an ipad or an android tablet or Windows RT)

they should not buy or download a protection program , the system should be secure by it self for normal users. (and I think we could get there if Microsoft was successful on moving most of the current win32 and .net x86 apps to the store , and after that locking the system by default so any code from outside the store can't run on windows (this will solve adware, malware and ransomware issues , I never heard of ipad users complaining about these issues , so should windows normal users)

One can always use restricted accounts in Windows for family members or people that can get into trouble.

but usually people who can get into trouble don't know how to restrict anything
it should be reversed , windows restricted to the store by default (since most users can get into trouble)
and then the people who don't want restriction know their way to disable the restrictions that they don't want .

It will be safe for normal users if they go only to normal sites. MS has no business what you wanna do online. It's your own risk and you should have Plan B.

    it shouldn't be that way
if it can be safer then it should , we can't expect more than billion users to be advanced users like the good people on this forum , we should help and advocate for windows to work great out of the box for them (them = the not advanced billion plus users)

I think Windows store will not be like the apple store , they already promised photoshop element will be there , so we can test it when windows 10 is out and see if it is worse or the same as the photoshop elements of today.
Well Photoshop is being converted to a modern app. MS is releasing development tools that will make it easy to convert desktop apps, iOS apps, Linux apps, Android Apps and Java apps to modern apps.

Those sites are no store by any means, just random places with collections of SW, nobody has any say in what's available there.
