Curiouser and curiouser... [cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English); ]
    - I'm using 32 bit FF, and was before the upgrade.

Well, the problem is solved for me.

The logon screen problem is more serious. When I click on a user I want to logon with, before being able to type in the password he goes to a blue screen with a rotating cursor (the dots circle). It takes forever and I have to reset te system.
I said before, that it happens sometimes but actually it happens a lot. And also after resetting it is not always solved.
Maybe I should just restore my backup for now. Gives me headaches...

Hi, I lost my clock in the task bar. It showed day, date and time with seconds. I was able to use both TClockEx and StoicJoker in compatibility mode before the update but none of them work now. When it comes to TClockEx the system says that it loads too slow. Whatever that means.

I have seen that those who want a clock on the desktop have a solution in 8Gadget programs but does anyone know of a clock for the taskbar with seconds and all that I can look for now? Or is there some kind of tweak I can apply for to get the old ones, I already have, to work again? Have searched the net to no avail.

    Thanks in advance!

After much rummaging around I found a clock which meets my expectations. However, it's not free of charge. I've started a 30 days trial and if it meets my standards, I might well purchase it in the end. It displays day of week, date (without the year - although I don't know if that is just for the trial version) and time with running seconds. For interested users here is the link http://www.1stclock.com/ to 1st clock version 5.

On my wife's laptop we get a blank screen - just the pointer cursor, no limping dots - sometimes after clicking the lock screen away after booting; always when switching users. One time we waited 10 minutes before forcing a power off.

This coming weekend I'll do a clean reinstall to see if that fixes anything.

Have you don't a clean reinstall?

(I'm getting tired of asking that. I'm getting tired of being told that when I forget to suggest it to myself. How does the average non-techie handle being told "Oh, just reinstall the operating system and every program you've installed"? Sheesh!)

    Regarding the login problem:

Fast start-up: Try setting this off (mine's on here). A number of people have found this helps.

I note jdenhaer appears confused between Fast Startup and Hibernate. As you can see these are quite different settings- and of course very different functions.

Beyond that you can try these standard things:
    Run chkdsk C: \F

then if clear, from an elevated command prompt
    sfc /scannow

and if that fails an in-place upgrade repair install

    More details available.

Always use disk imaging so you have a working configuration you can restore. (Very much more quickly than the pain of a clean install).
Bad things can happen and almost certainly will- probably when it's most inconvenient. Be prepared.

My favorite clock (the successor to my old favorite TClockEx), T-Clock Redux

For me, portable version works fine in Win 10
