Anniversary Update - Clean Install - First Impressions

    My first impressions:

    Pros:
Seems a bit faster overall - I did a complete system image backup in 00:02:09 (previously took 00:02:35)
OS install uses less space (at least for my installation)
Event viewer shows no new instances (I had two known issues before and they are still there)
Reapplied many of Brinks tutorial suggestions and most of them worked... except this one:

gpedit management notice is missing (second screen shot) so I can't say for sure if it will work (or not).

    Cons:
Win10BGChanger1.2.1 still doesn't work (as expected)
Sound removed from notifications by default (not a con for me though)
Installed default audio playback to my headset - changed to speakers

All in all, working well so far (for me).

I like everything except the removal of being able to skip the lock screen on wake from resume

Yep, it's stable and seems a bit faster for me too.

What I don't like is that no customization and settings have been preserved, that's one. Another is that all my OS-tied software activations were gone and I needed to re-activate several tools I use. Finally, I can see that some nice productivity utils that refer to OS elements display don't work correctly, but obviously that's not OS fault :)

    Hi there

Networking (Windows never seems to get it right) - my Ethernet now reports 100Mbps instead of 1Gbps. !!!

VMware - Bridged networking Fails -- NAT works but doesn't show all computers on Network from within the VM.

Long File names (> 260 chars) don't work

So far Not impressed -- Backwards step. I was hoping for Long file names to work, Networking also seems a bit hosed again (Ethernet speed) and although converting to HYPER-V I still use VMware for the moment so I need Bridged Networking to work.

I've "Virtualised this machine and reverted to 1511 until these are fixed.

    cheers

Been using this for some time with the insider builds and I really like what they've done. I just can't wait to see what comes down the line with the next insider builds.

Bridged networking works. You just need to reconfigure the virtual network adapters. What I did is reset them to defaults. Now bridged networking works as always. What version of VMWare do you use? I use Workstation 12 Pro.

So far it's a nice update, but the settings app freezes in places.

    UPDATE:
I recently received a pop-up notification that updates were available and they did not download automatically so maybe the gpedit option is still working?
