    Hi,

Thanks for continuing to try, and still no joy

Can't enable Location, to get Cortana to work?-2016_07_30_14_22_181.png

I run the .reg file here: https://www.tenforums.com/attachments...his_device.reg

It asked me if I wanted to run it, to which I said yes... so it should have done the update.

    So frustrating :S

    Cheers

Might be worthwhile performing a scannow if you have not already done one.....to check the registry is not faulty
Right click on winkey (bottom left on taskbar) and choose Command Prompt (Admin) and copy paste the following.

    sfc /scannow

    Press enter and let run.

    Hi,

    Here is the output:
    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.10586]
    (c) 2015 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>

I'm sorry Andy....I give in, no integrity violations.....perhaps Brink or some other wizard can come up with an answer.
All suggestions made work on my four different computers.

No problem - thanks for trying! For me, it just seems weird that Cortona even needs location (granted, it may need it for working out the weather... but thats about it!)

Hopefully someone else can suggest some bits (I'm off camping for a week tomorrow, so won't be able to respond for a little bit - so not ignoring anyone if they reply :))

    Cheers
