    Soo, any luck?
So far, only Windows Server has been released as OEM RTM to retailers in version 14393.0.
We are currently at 14393.5. I let you know, when I find it. I feel like waiting for Santa at Christmas.

Someone was telling me that the version just released to insiders is the version we will be getting on the 2nd. I'm hesitant to download that one in case it permanently switches me over to the insider ring.

14393 really is nearly same thing as it should be released on August 2nd but another update or two is not out of question yet. There's no mandatory insider version, you can opt out at any time and end up with last public version released.

You're saying if I go on the insider ring I can opt out and be put on the regular, normal user ring?

    Sure.

However, I believe that you can only drop out of the Insider program if the OS version installed is basically a public release version.

    (14393 is such a build.)

The 1st Tuesday is always a major push. Any updates before the download of the upgrade, will always be installed first, then the upgrade and then any updates after you reboot, that were not packaged with the upgrade.
