stuck in safe mode
I have been using my fingerprint (ever since i upgraded to windows10) to login to my laptop as i have forgotten my password. Recently when i dowloaded a software my system rebooted in safe mode. I am now unable to login as the finger print sotware is not accessible. I am unable to get back to normal mode. pls help.

You should be able to use OPTION THREE in a command prompt at boot to boot back to normal mode.

Follow these directions for resetting the password. Fingerprint login is good, but there is always that chance that the software service could crash on boot up and you are stuck not able to do anything. How to Reset Your Forgotten Password in Windows 10

Thank you for reaponding, Brink. I will try this out now, thought i did try this out earier but was unable to get to the command prompt screen. in another option it requests my password which i do not remember.

In the diagnostic startup mode there's no search so I can't run msconfig. Is there another way to do run this? I got to where I'm at now by running msconfig, staying on the general tab (not the boot), unchecking normal startup, then checking...
It is taking forever to boot into safe mode not sure why. Just clocking. I had set it up via msconfig. Any way to skip safe mode or am I stuck until I get to desktop ?

I have been told that you can enter Safe Mode in W10 by holding the Shift key at startup and tapping the F8 key, do you know if this is correct? (I had a crash after holding he shift key so didn't get any further)
