Ugh, you would have to mention Frontier. My in-laws have them and the Gateway that they did have before they had issues with their Bonded pair, had great Wifi coverage. The new one that they were talked into has the worse wifi coverage ever and is always overheating on them.

Even right next to the Gateway, it would drop connection with their new desktop that had a built in wifi with external antenna. It would also do the same thing with my laptop when I was trying to set up Ethernet over Power adapters for their Smart TV across the other end of the house.

I made sure that there was no other software on their desktop after I set it up, that would cause issues. Went back two months later and had my wife's step mom and dad complaining about the Internet. Took a look and she had installed a bunch of "security software", because she believes what she hears on Fox News. I have given up at this point in even touching their desktop, because as soon as I am gone, I know that she will start loading it back up with garbage.
