You cannot BURN to a BD-ROM drive, it is a read only, typically virtual drive created by ISO programs, etc.

Choose another, typically your DVD Burner.

His drive is a combination Blu-Ray and DVD-RW drive. This is what mine says with a blank DVD-R inserted:

And it's burning just fine (had to test it anyway because selling this laptop this week):

I assume you have the ISO file saved to your hard drive? Do you have a blank DVD-R inserted in the drive? An error will likely ruin the DVD-R, so you have to start with a fresh one. For Windows 7, I recommend using IMGBURN to burn the ISO file to DVD:

ImgBurn used to be recommended too widely till we come to know that it bundles PUPs like OpenCandy.

CDBurnerXP is comparatively safe as a free program, depending on its download process. If we do to the 'Download' Tab of the Website: https://cdburnerxp.se/en/download
    Burning ISO-2016-07-05_18h19_55.png

And then click on the 'More Download Options', it provides a version that is said to be free from PUPs.
    Burning ISO-2016-07-05_18h21_54.png

And that program is not too bad.

Thanks everybody. I managed to burn to a DVD using an external BD R/W which worked and then tested to see if my laptop BD Rom would read and it did :)
