My believe or otherwise does not matter. What matters is the level of the issue.
Disk corruption is a major possible factor that causes this issue. And if disk corruption is there, no further actions will do anything.
And, there is adequate reason to suspect disk corruption from your description.
It is not that I dont believe you (in that case I would not have volunteered in your thread); I wanted a documented confirmation only.I was having constant disk thrashing .......
Anyway, as you are taking it otherwise (and it is your issue, not of me), please continue from here ....
