Do you really need Coolsense installed? I'm on my third HP laptop and haven't kept it installed on any one of them.

I just thought it would help keep it cool. Any suggestions?

I haven't used any special software, and they've run great. My first was an HP Envy ultrabook, and now I have two identical Pavilion x360 laptops. They never run hot.

I agree with Deacon ... I found that my laptop ran hotter with Coolsense running.

The other thing that I never fix on this laptop is the drive guard sensor that is flagged in Device Manager as an Unknown device. This one might be argued as valuable, but I don't drop my machines

Most of the HP software is useless, including the helper.
There are better native or manual solutions than the stuff they stuff on their machines.

Forget bout going to HP for drivers too - Windows Update does a great job providing ones that work well. The only time I suggest going to an OEM for a driver is if there is a problem (Device Manager flagged or issues running the machine and that issue is addressed by the OEM driver)

I've also had many HP machines and I would clean off all of the bloatware as soon as I opened the box.

But, to clear up some confusion, I think the HP help needs the HP framework, not anything from MS - I could be wrong though.

Okay a huge problem all of a sudden my internet card stopped working and my sound. I went into settings to try and do a recovery and it will not even let me open up security and recovery to even repair it. I went into hardware and tried uninstalling network adapter but it did not good. Help!! I am writing you on a friends computer that is also overheating.

Ok - it might be because you tried installing some drivers? I'm with the others - you don't need any of the HP stuff - Windows will install all the drivers (and thanks for letting me know the HP driveguard isn't necessary Slarty as I have that missing and decided to ignore it lol).

You might need to be patient for the first 10 minutes after the clean install. I had a stretched screen for 10 minutes while Windows was looking for the correct driver (and kindly informed me that's what it was doing) and then the driver installed.

Just do the clean install again, put your antivirus on, connect to the internet, and wait. The drivers should all be installed and a Windows update box will pop up at some point. Do the Windows updates. All sorted. I did this on a 7 year old HP Pavilion last week. You actually don't need any of the HP stuff. It's mostly there for marketing purposes and to allow you to make recovery disks (which are for the previous OS so not necessary now - unless you want to reinstall from them).

When in doubt, restart the machine. I don't know what's being done on your side and I don't see anything posted here that would have casued what your machine exhibits now.

Wait a few minutes (20-30) to see if things clear up. Either way, restart the machine.

Sure let me fill you in. I have nothing but problems with windows 10. I have had to do four clean installs on windows 10 upgrade. Yup it causes my wireless adapters to always stop working and my update and security does not allow me to open it up to repair it. Not to mention sound goes out and everything tends to malfunction. So I want to reverse it back to 8 and am working on how to do that.
