You install Macrium Reflect on your C-Drive .....then run it from your C-drive, BUT have Macrium put the image backup on your external drive. Root dir would be fine, no special folder is needed. Macrium has no problem running from a C drive. Macrium will not interfere with your other backup files at all. You can even run Macrium from a USB bootable drive also. But in this case just would like to see if Macrium has any problems. Install Macrium on your C drive, run it, tell Macrium which drive to place its backup image.....that's it.
