Windows 10 guess the RTM release date - $1000 prize

August 2nd for me. If I win I would like to donate the prize to SBTRescue.

RTM = Release To Manufacturers This is known as the 'Gold' build. GA or General Availability is when it hits the shelves... 10.10.15?

The RTM is a very clear date which will be set by Microsoft. On that day the final version of Windows 10 will be released so that the computer manufacturers can officially pre-install it on computers they will sell.

There will be no confusion about the date. Just for a reminder, here's the official dates of Windows 8 as told by Wikipedia:

Windows 8 is a personal computer operating system developed by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. Development of Windows 8 started before the release of its predecessor, Windows 7, in 2009. It was announced at CES 2011, and followed by the release of three pre-release versions from September 2011 to May 2012. The operating system was released to manufacturing on August 1, 2012, and was released for general availability on October 26, 2012.

Had this been about Windows 8, the winner would have been the member who guessed August 1, 2012.
