A picture is worth a thousand words. Gotta check mine out too.

Edit: I couldn't read what you had in the Admin Command Prompt, so couldn't check the way you did. Can you please tell me what I should ask it? Thanks.

Wynona try using the Run dialog and copy & paste this in: slmgr.vbs /dlv

To get all the Activation IDs for the installed version of Windows, open the Run box, type the following and hit Enter:
    slmgr.vbs /dlv al

To see the licensing status of your Windows 7 or Windows 8 installation, open the Run box, type the following and hit Enter:
    slmgr.vbs /dlv

    Should work in 10 too

Here's the thing folks ... MS had to test what will happen when Windows 10 is launched.

Permanent activated is a test on a Preview Release and has no real bearing on activation.

When Windows 10 is launched, those values will have meaning on an production install or upgrade, but not yet. The license is still the Preview License and that is the controlling factor. When 10.0.240 expires, the license will be invalid.

I know, Bill, but I want to learn how to do certain things before I'm upgraded.

I ran it, Cliff and I'm somewhat behind you. I checked for updates and got KB 3074678 and another AMD one (AMD Radeon HD 8570D) along with a Defender update. My version of 10240.16384 didn't catch up with yours.

Yeh, Yeh, I know some folks are a little higher in the heirarchy than I am.

Please could you post some links to verify that information. My license is very clearly a Retail one, not a preview license.

I get "permanently activated" and "Retail Licence" on a test PC that wasn't upgraded from 7 or 8, but was clean installed with an earlier ISO (10130 I think), and has the same product key as everyone else. Also I seem to have accidentally left the Insiders programme on that PC (I installed using Setup.exe from the 10240 ISO, and signed in with a local account although the PC has a valid Insiders MSA as well, but it seems to have dropped the PC out of the programme).

Gabe Aul has been very clear that that I won't be keeping this PC as activated (I'll probably opt back in to Insiders with it), so the "permanently activated" message is clearly not something that should be relied on at this stage.

    Gabe Aul said:
If your system upgraded from a Genuine Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 license it will remain activated, but if not, you will be required to roll back to your previous OS version or acquire a new Windows 10 license. If you do not roll back or acquire a new license the build will eventually expire.

Does anyone here believe that Windows 10 will be very likely to come out in June 2015 or is that wishful thinking? I want it now so badly but I would hate to have to wait until September or even July or August. Microsoft needs to speed things...
