Didn't Dude already do that?
Didn't Dude already do that?
Just give me a while and I'll try a video on what I was talking about. A very abbreviated version is how to create a custom event notification in event viewer. This one is for WHEA errors. This works in 7, I haven't tried it in 10 yet.
Search for and go to event viewer > Local >Applications and services> Microsoft> Windows >>Kernel-WHEA>Errors. Highlight a WHEA error >Right click it and select Attach Task to this event> You will get a basic task wizard you can change names or add a description if you want > Click next >click next again > select display message. One option is send an email but I have never tried it > select display a message >next> Select the title of the message, name it what you want, I used WHEA ERROR and type in the message you want "You have had a WHEA error" or anything you want, like "your hardware is messed up stupid" Then click finish.
It sounds complicated, but it is simple. Now, every time you have a WHEA error a pop up message will appear on your screen saying whatever you put as the message you want. You can do the same thing for most anything. I haven't tried it on 10 yet, but I have used it on 7 and it works perfect. That's the very abbreviated version.
And my 8.1 doesn't have a one. Only informational's.( WHEA error)
I've used event viewer custom views a while back to keep track of specific errors when testing "So called System Optimizers" to keep track and count the errors(that incidentally we not there before or ever again after installation/uninstall).

I would find a tutorial of how to run Windows xp in a virtual window very useful.
