    Computer Name - Change in Windows 10

    I will add your video to the list, it shows now the process correctly. You could try using some other way to tell what you are doing, the WordPad solution is for the first quite lame and looking boring and for the second not very informative. Try PowerPoint, you don't have to buy Microsoft Office to get it, you can use PowerPoint Online or PowerPoint Windows App, both are free, to make nice looking slides. Make screenshots of the slides and insert them to correct places in the video.

    Another observation: if you will continue without narration in your videos, you need at least show the text instructions more often, covering only the next step or two instead of that you write in your Wordpad in the beginning of the video everything you will do and the rest of the video has no explanations.

    It looks better and is more informative if you tell the next step or two, show how it's done, then tell the next step before showing it, and so on.

    PowerPoint Online can be found here: Microsoft PowerPoint Online - Work together on PowerPoint presentations

    Sounds interesting. I'm 7 hours behind you, but will be available whenever you decide.

    I would be interested, Kari. I'm US Central Time (US & Canada). As long as it's not midnight my time, I'm game. :)

    My coach turns into a pumpkin and my horses turn into mice at midnight. :)
    @Wynona, @Dude

    OK, not very much interest but as this is a new concept, I am really willing to test even if there only was one or two attendees. I will stay online at least an hour even if no one shows up. My suggestion is today (it's Saturday, April 25th already here) at 17:30 (5:30 PM) UTC. This page shows the time in your local time: Event Time Announcer - Make your own Windows videos - The Basics

    I would appreciate if anyone going to participate would tell it here beforehand (just to make sure I bring enough refreshments :)).

    To prepare, this is the software we will use in case you want to install them before we start:

    Trying to clear my schedule to be able to join your event. So far looks good for my time zone. One question, is this the gathering site?Charlie

    Kind of :).

    I will post here a link to meeting here about half an hour before we start. Until that moment I am not able to tell if it will be a live YouTube event happening in an embedded YouTube in the post, or if it will be an open to all Lync online meeting. I am testing the YouTube option which I would rather use, but I have some extreme delay issues at the moment. If I can't fix these issues, we will go with Lync meeting which works extremely well.

    In any case I post about two hours before the meeting the instructions how to join.

    BTW, I hope that when you join the meeting and when you are asked to tell your name you would use the Ten Forums usernames.

    I will in any case record the meeting and post it here as an embedded video later tonight.

    @Kari,
    This is use of the instructional videos is a such a great idea. Sometimes instructions my be interpreted wrong and make us/me frustrated. I'd love to join your session today but we have a benefit dinner to attend tonight so if the interest is still there, I'd like to attend any future sessions if I could.

    Thank you for your support!

    I've looked at the Event Time Announcer and it looks like you're five hours ahead of Central Time in the US, Kari. So, that puts me at 12:30 PM here?

    I like Lync; have attended sessions with Microsoft and it seems to work pretty well with Windows 10. I also went to Youtube and looked at live recordings and they seem to work. So, hopefully, I'm set.

    Edit: Never mind. :) As I clicked to post, your post came across the wires. I'm now testing Windows and waiting. Got everything else installed.

    OK geeks, we will start in about hour and a half. You can already log in to the meeting at
    http://bit.ly/TF-MakeYourOwnVideos to test it works for you. Notice: no audio before start time.

    For those not familiar with Lync Online Meetings, here's a quick guide:

    1. Click the meeting link above
    2. If you have Lync desktop installed and you want to use your organisational Lync Account, simply click Launch Application if the dialog is presented. It will only be presented if Lync is installed.
    3. If you have no Lync account from your organization or would for any reason rather use the Lync Web App, click Do Nothing and click Join Using Lync Web App instead:

    4. Install the Lync Web App plug-in for your browser (screenshots from Chrome), it takes a few seconds, and when done click Join the meeting:

    5. Launch the Lync Web App

    6. Give any name, would be nice if you used your Ten Forums username and click Join the meeting

    7. If you want to hear me and possibly talk by yourself, select Using my computer in Join Meeting Audio dialog (#1 in screenshot below). Open the Chat window (#2) and list of participants (#3)

    8. You are done, takes less than a minute.

    Looks complicated, is really easy :).

    See you soon! Starting time in your local time here: Event Time Announcer - Make your own Windows videos - The Basics
