New video: Hyper-V: Export Virtual Machine
Tutorial: Hyper-V Virtual Machine - Export in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums
This video shows how to export Hyper-V virtual machines preserving all their settings and possible checkpoints, covering both export methods:- Export vm using Hyper-V Manager
- Export vm using PowerShell
Exporting preserves for instance activation; if your Windows (XP and later) Hyper-V virtual machine is activated, you export it, clean install Windows 10, setup Hyper-V and finally import the Windows vm, it will be activated..
Exporting is also practical when disk where you store virtual machines is becoming full. Export vm to another location, delete it from its original location, import it selecting to keep its files in new location, and nothing else changes than location of your vm and its virtual hard disk.
Exporting is easier and often faster than creating system images from your virtual machines and requires no additional software.
NoteImport VM video follows suit, will be posted soon.

Both videos are great @Kari. I had to figure it out on my own, but for me stuff like that comes easy.
What's really nice is the explanation of what the 3 import options mean(register, restore, copy).
Nice touch to your pimped PowerShell in the video:
By the way Geeks, Kari(a very patient man, regardless how some of his help posts, might look/read) spent a good half an hour helping me learn how to do this on Skype(another reason, for those who haven't yet, to join at the next Ten Forums Skype Chat ):
English is not everyone's mother tongue.
I find myself, after 27 years here in Germany, having problems putting my thoughts in one language in a polite way.
I literally think in two languages overlapping ALL the time, eve dream in both English & German.
What might be polite in on language, might be misunderstood in the other, when written.
