    safe mode black screen

so yesterday I noticed that there was some sort of malware file popping up on my pc, so I decided to run msconfig to start the computer in safe mode and run malwarebytes to remove the malware. my computer restarted and the lights on the tower turned on just like normal, however the screen doesn't turn on and says "no signal." I have tried to hard restart my pc several times and even used another monitor that I know works, but no dice. the weird thing is that my PC will turn on, it just can't display or connect to the monitor for some reason. I've seen other threads and they all involve opening some sort of program on the PC, which I obviously can't do since I can't see anything. I'm running Windows 10 64-bit and this issue has never happened before (I've started up in safe mode several times before).

Hi trudic and welcome to Tenforums.

It would help to know if you could identify or at least describe what type of popup you were seeing.

Please fully fill in your system specs so we know exactly what we're dealing with.

When you first turn the computer on, do you see the manufacturer splash screen/logo, before Windows starts to load? Because if you don't, that would indicate a graphics failure of some sort.

If you can see the initial splash screen before Windows loads, then it's not a graphics problem, and you could try booting the system to Kyhi's custom rescue media, and run MBAM (Malwarebytes) from it.
