    Should I have version 19042?

I was just reading AskWoody and Susan is referring to "needing to get version 2004 off of my computer" by tomorrow.

My computer updates automatically. If I do not have the right "version," why not and what should I do?

With Windows I’d recommend always being up to date. 21H2 is the current version and it is stable for me.

Is my version older than yours and should I update versions? My computer is set to update automatically and I use it every day. Am I doing something wrong that keeps "versions" from updating when they need to?

    To update,
    1. Press then search ‘Settings’
    2. Choose ‘Updates & Security’
    3. Update if the option is there.

    Howdy Judy ,

    At the top of KB5007186 Windows 10 2004 19041.1348, 20H2 19042.1348, 21H1 19043.1348

find and install "The KB5003791 Enablement Package allows you to go from 2004, 20H2, or 21H1 to 19044 (v21H2)." if the method @James Bond suggested didn't get you updated.

Here I thought I was the last person still using 2004 - I may update tomorrow

You will not be offered an upgrade to a higher build if there is a compatibility problem. That's one possibility.

If your PC is the one in your specs (some people post about a different one) then your
HP z800 workstation is from around 2014 - quite old.

Have you checked if any of these are known to run higher builds than you have?

As to the need to upgrade- well, your Windows build will continue to run. I have one I've kept on 1903 by choice.

    You say:
    My computer updates automatically.
Please post a screenshot of your Update History.

You can bypass safeguard hold (compatibility checks)
How to Disable Safeguard Holds for Feature Updates on Windows 10

    - but that's entirely at your own risk- you could run into major issues.

** Before attempting any radical moves to upgrade- and before any upgrade as a matter of course - nsure you have created a current disk image (e.g. using Macrium Reflect free/paid) to external storage of at least all partitions comprising your O/S.

I'm guessing it's for gaming reasons? If not that, why?
