I have a friend that I have been keeping her dell inspiron 1525 with vista that I have been keeping going for years.
She was having a friend do some painting and she let him take her laptop.
When he brought it back she says it has windows 10 on it.
I do not think this is likely but I have not seen it yet.
It has 3gb memory, intel core duo cpu, 2.0 ghz.
Is it possible to do that.
It is, but it was not upgraded, more than likely he installed 7 onto it, then took the upgrade.
I would highly recommend she run a Command Prompt (Admin) and enter:
slmgr /dlv
In the results she wants to see Retail Channel activation. If she sees anything about KMS activation it is likely an illegal activation of Windows 10.
It is definitely possible that your friend's friend had an extra license laying around that he bestowed upon your friend.
