no none of the solutions in that thread work....another thing is that what was the windows c partition is now local disk c and there is no recovery d like there used to be...what should i do
Having no recovery partition is not a loss. It's not the best idea having a recovery data on the same hard drive as the OS. If your hard drive fails, it's useless. It's only a way to cut cost for the manufacturers instead of providing recovery DVDs or USB. You can create your own recovery drive using a USB flashdrive. But it has to be a dedicated USB stick for this purpose.
The random freezing issue is back again, so the clean install hasn't fixed it.
Can't get serial number to take, windows7 is activated. When I try windows 10 it says serial number wrong?, product id is bottom of labtop. If I use a serial number program it comes up with different serial?. This is a legal copy of windows 7...

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and decided to do a clean install afterwards. The install took three days of messing about, trying discs and USB stick method etc. but finally worked only after I disabled the network card in BIOS.
I was forced to do a clean install of 9841 this morning. Computer started acting crazy using 9879. Actually I think I messed around with it too much. :) Anyhow... Reformatted my hard drive, clean install from USB. Now when I try and install the next...
