If you don't need your various Windows Apps to be connected to different email accounts, and if you like to sync everything automatically as I do, then yes, the MS Account is the obvious choice for us both and many other users like us.

I just want to comment that I do log in using my Microsoft account and my computer boots to the desktop with no password or password screen. It just says Hi Mike and logs in.
In the Run box type...
netplwiz
In the user accounts screen select the account and uncheck the box that says, "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer".
Click Apply
Enter your password twice, I think.
Reboot your computer and it will boot to the desktop with out the password screen.

Sounds like an MS commercial but is not very practical for me.to get the "full Windows Experience"
I wanted to be sure that this is clarified because it is not true.
It's a huge difference signing in to Windows without a password which is only possible with a local account, and signing in using an MS Account which absolutely always needs and uses a password. Signing in to your MS Account automatically does not mean you sign in without a password. Even then you sign in with a password, it's just entered automatically for you.
I repeat: it is not possible to sign in to Windows using an MS Account without a password.

No Roger, you don't log in to Windows without password and I think it is important to know for those who have not yet used Windows 8 and later and not signed in using an MS Account.
You log in with your MS Account password which you have set to be entered automatically. I really think it is necessary and important to understand the difference.
For home users, I don't see much of a difference between a local account and a Microsoft account, apart from some potential security issues.
However, for enterprise environments, Microsoft accounts are unacceptable. Most enterprises already have their own accounts using Active Directory or another directory service. They don't want that replaced or supplemented, and depending on the industry, using Microsoft accounts can result in severe auditing issues. Microsoft accounts are not controlled by the enterprise.
Some of this is being alleviated in Windows 10. Some services, like the Store, can be used using domain accounts. It does appear that enterprises wanting this will have to use Azure to some degree, though.
