Curious appdata folders

    Curious appdata folders


    This is just a 'for curiosity' enquiry as the disk in question is out of service due to bad block errors.

    Under appdata\Local there are 1244 empty folders like below - wonder how they got there?

    I would expect to see those folder in

    appdata\local\temp

    No. These are typical for some OS installations on HP and other brands. I don't know what are they for though.

    It was on an HP system. Was REALLY surprised to see 1,244 of them and in that folder.

    Another one of life's little mysteries.

I'm waiting to see if the new users of Windows 9 still get themselves into trouble as they did with all the other Windows OS's. :p Hopefully, {some} have learned through time, to be vigilant about security. ;)
