PC stays on spinning dots for 2 hours

Hi there, people on Tenforums, it's my first post here.
First of all, I apologize if my english looks... kinda weird...

    Okay, let's begin.
Last Sunday (15/05) I turned on my laptop in the evening, just to... play some games.
In the screen with the black background w/ Acer logo, instead of the spinning dots, I got a BSoD, instantly (i got scared), it was the NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM error.
My computer couldn't generate a memory dump, so it restarted, I was confused.
Again, hoping that the BSoD won't show up again, it was not what I expected, the BSoD appeared, and again, the same error code, also, my PC couldn't generate a memory dump. I felt like my laptop was about to die, I was sad.

Then my laptop restarted itself for the third time, but instead of trying to boot into the system it triggered a auto-Startup Repair (I think)
Thankfully it managed to fix itself.

Now let's leave that aside to talk about the title...
When my PC got fixed, I wanted to use it but... looks like something wasn't right.
My laptop stared, at the spinning dots (with my color, of course), for 2-and-a-half-hours. (this is the 1st time it happens)
But after that 2:30 hour wait... my PC bringed me into the log on screen.
Strangely, instead of having to input my PIN (like I did for the last 2 years), the system offered to log me in with my password, also my photo was automatically changed to one I used to use in 2014. I knew something changed after that Startup Repair (and/or maybe the BSoD), it was like black magic.

I wrote my password and entered the system, this time I didn't wait another 2 hours, instead, everything was normal, like, nothing happened, but that was only the beginning.
Some window sizes were changed to their defaults (Cortana, Chrome and some of my folders), my favorite program settings were reset, but the worst of them all, I couldn't open the Start menu, also the only app on the App history section in the Task Manager was Acer Explorer, meaning that my Start menu is completely ruined. (Can't access any Metro programs and... stuff), again, still more black magic.

Up to now, these problems are still persisting (2 hours on the spinning dots, enter my password instead of my PIN and can't open the Start menu), I can still use my PC, but with a lot of worries and bad thoughts in my head.
I just want some help, If I don't do something to fix my PC, things may get even worser until it may reach the point where it will just look like a electronic paperweight.

Thanks, Michael, sorry if the post was too long, btw.

Hello and Welcome to TenForums :)

Thanks for the detailed description - it helps us to understand the history of what went wrong.

The BSOD was triggered by some hardware problem I expect ( e.g. bad memory, poor motherboard connection, power supply instability, etc. could be anything) and as your PC would not start for 3 attempts it went into automatic repair mode (this is normal and expected).

In attempting to repair it reverted your PC to an earlier point in time or tried to do a reinstallation which is probably why it took 2.5 hrs and returned everything to defaults. Clearly something went wrong with the start menu, perhaps due to some underlying problem that has not been fixed yet.

I would suggest you do an in-place upgrade repair but there is a risk that you still have some hardware or driver related problem that originally triggered the BSOD. It might be worth running a few diagnostic checks on your memory and motherboard, CPU and GPU.
