Windows 10 and Playback Sounds device defaults
My DELL laptop with Win10 is usually coupled to a HD Monitor with speakers. When I disconnect it and go mobile, Win10 doesn't automatically find and default to the laptop's own speakers???
Any ideas please how to get Win10 to handle this?
I'm trying to understand how to enable HDMI audio on my Win10 Asus notebook (before buying a A/V receiver 5.1 ;)).
I think I should have a "Digital Audio (HDMI)" option, or something similar, in my Playback Devices inside Windows Audio...
I am getting numerous Device Disconnected sounds and occasionally Device Connected sounds.
I am trying to trace the source of these and started looking in the event logs.
There does not appear to be any events with Critical or Error tags showing....

I wanted to temporarily disable my built-in speakers.
I went to Control Panel.
Clicked on "Sound" which displayed my menu of playback devices.
Clicked on my built-in speakers.
Clicked on "Properties."
Clicked on "Disable."
