    Documentation for spell check/auto-correct?

Can anyone point me to documentation that explains in detail how spell check/auto-correct works in Windows 10? For example, (1) How does it handle multiple installed languages? and (2) What applications does it work in? (On my installation, it works in the compose mail window of OE Classic but not in Notepad or Wordpad.)
    Thanks

Spell check and the language settings for that are almost always per application unfortunately.

interestingly suggests this should apply for notepad, wordpad. That doesn't happen for me despite:

My preliminary thought: this seems to be sthg that was meant to be available, but doesn't, unless I've broken it!
